Where is the Vochol?

After this magic piece have been all over the world, what happened with it?

Created by the Bautista and Ortiz families natives from Jalisco and Nayarit, made with more than 2 million of beads (better known as “chaquiras”) for about 7 months, the Vochol have touched the lands of United States, Germany, England, France, Belgium and even China.

The project was promoted by the Asociación de Amigos de Arte Popular (Friends of Popular Art Association) with the only aim of huichol art being known and appreciated by Mexico and the rest of the world.

By the end of its tour, the goal is to action the master piece and with the money raised, support and boost the artwork of millions of Mexican Artisans.

After almost 9 years on tour, the Vochol is back home at the MAP (Popular Art Museum) until December 31th of 2019.
